Has anyone else been bemused by this eBay curiosity - a double LP re-issue of Changes and Height Below. Go to http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/John-Williams-LP-Funky-Dusty-Fingers-Style-Breaks_W0QQitem Z4777217694QQcategoryZ43701QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I love the seller's description although I'm not sure I understand it. "Strange 'two for one' style double album from John Williams - that guy who's done all the soundtracks and all that. The great thing about this record is the track "Dance of the Dead" - a slow and moody breakbeat number - the sort of thing you'd expect to find on a Dusty Fingers compilation." Absolutely genuine - I remember seeing it in a shop years ago, and knowing someone who had the cassette issue of the same... the cassette player couldn't handle the CrO2 tape (remember them!) and the pitch wobble was sickening. |

Actually I can't belive it but there's THREE sellers listing this double LP at the moment (one helpfully gives the catalogue number CUBE TOOFA 12 for your archive Richard, though the 1971 release date must be wrong). And another eBay curiosity at the moment is a Marks and Spencer cassette of the Aranjuez and Castelnuevo-Tedesco concertos with Ormandy. In the early 80s M&S re-issued some popular classical and easy listening material on both LP and cassette. I'll keep looking on eBay. Hopefully someone's offering a mint CD of 'From Australia' with a starting bid of £0.01 |
