I recently heard a beautiful piece on my local classical station that was referred to as John Williams playing Shubert's Sonata Esponia. I was so moved by it that I stopped the car to write down the information. I can't find any reference on the web to it being a Shubert piece or of John Williams recording it. Does anyone know if John Williams recorded that piece? Did Schubert compose it? Thanks! |

My guess is it's Schubert's 'Sonata Arpeggione' which JW played in a guitar and strings arrangement. Blame the radio presenter's diction or the noise of passing traffic! I think that the only other Schubert JW has recorded is a 'Duo in A' with Julian Bream. |
