Hi y'all,

First time here, great looking forum, bringing back a lot of memories...

I was fortunate enough to be working in an independant record store in South Australia from 1979 - 1983, and was blown away with the first Sky album, plus it was right up the alley of the kind of stuff we sold.

Knowing the local RCA office very well, I was invited to the first Sky press meet'n'greet and got to meet the whole band for the first of numerous times, as well as see every tour over the next few years. In those pre-internet days, getting info here other than that thru official channels was almost impossible, so I ended up calling Peter Lyster-Todd's office every 4 months or so for an update - which astounded them that some guy from Austrlia would make an ISD call to see what one of his favourite bands were up to!

Consequently, that meant that I was in touch with Peter every time they came over, plus received a couple fo Xmas cards from the office - I still have one stashed away, would happily scan it if anyone wants...

I also had (...) each of the first 3 albums signed by all members of the band on the respective tours, sadly all lost with most of my other vinyl in a break-in some years ago :-(

The last encounter I had with any of them was late 80's, I was working in a department store here and was walking thru one morning when I literally ran into Herbie Flowers - when I realised who it was, I said 'What are you doing here?', to which he repiled 'What are YOU doing here?' (lol) - he remembered me from previous meetings, and explained and introduced me to his girlfriend(?) of the time a local lass as it turned out, thus the reason for his incognito visit.

And after all that - I've read with interest that there are some live recordings circulating thru out the group - would love to get hold of some vintage 'unofficial' stuff, if anyone can help - feel free to mail me.

Cheers

Dave

Sky [videorecording] : rhythm on 2. Ep. 2.

Anorak ON. I've finally decided to make a list of the Sky video footage I have.
Many, many thanks to Chris and Myke for stashing/unearthing/ripping/converting most of these videos!

Classic Rock Legends (Commercial DVD)
Live in concert (Bremen) (Commercial DVD, under various names)
Sky At Westminster Abbey (Commercial VHS and Laserdisc)
Toccata - Wienybuds Videostars (Commercial VHS)

Night Music (Westwind, My Giselle, Fool on the Hill, Tuba Smarties, Sister Rose, Listen with Mother, Meheeco)
Val Doonican Show (Masquerade, Dance of the Big Fairies, Toccata, Theme from Z, Troika)
Sky at Drury Lane - Xmas 1983

Musikladen, 1980 - Toccata
Top of the Pops, 10-04-1980 - Toccata
Top of the Pops, 24-04-1980 - Toccata

Now the big question is, ( drumroll ) does anyone have anything that isn't on this list ? Anything they can beg, hire or procure (particularly the Hammersmith gig, DavyT ) for digital conversion ?
