Hi Mike-b. We can do better than copy it. There is free software that should let me download that clip, but I already have it as a much higher quality mpg (153 Mb - with no silly overlays), and on DVD(s) - transferred from a VHS tape before it could deteriorate any further.
It's the piece that was recorded for the Wienybuds Videostars VHS Richard mentions on the Albums page. I transferred the whole VHS to DVD - and made some clips to share too. The chances are that someone downloaded it from ME  and made a low-res version for youtube. Myke has it on his "bits disc" DVD, and Chris has a copy of the DVD. Can't remember who else has it now...
I managed to get the tape on ebay for 99p. It was an ex-rental, but looked like it had only been played a couple of times - brilliant condition. Incredibly lucky to find it at all  . There's a lot more info in the Videostars thread. If you want, we could MSN the clip, or you could have a copy of the DVD, or whatever...

| Yes, I've got a copy of this, but it wasn't me that put it up on YouTube. I hope that this is a good sign, as it would be nice to see some of the old TV appearances again, especially those from the BBC, circa 1978-80. Surely someone out there MUST have copies???? And I'm sure that, by now, you've all seen the great clip on there of FM demonstrating the Prophet 5. I love the bit at the end where he deliberately plays out of tune having just tuned it! And who says classical musicians don't have a sense of humour? Did anyone? Or am I just imagining it...??? |

| Mike, I can send you a copy of the 'Bits' compilation I put together (courtesy of Tricky lending me his Betamax tapes and Wienybuds disk). No cost, you've helped me in the past, so only fair to return the favour. Sorry to hear about the unemployment, been there myself a few years ago. So I know it feels surreal to start with, then that wears off, and you have what seems like an endless search for something new. Let me know if your address is the same as before, and I'll put a disk in the post for you. |

Ah, good point. I have just checked and yes I still have several emails from you, but I didn't notice your address on any of them! Obviously I did have it, but can't seem to find it now. I'll email you in a few minutes. By the way, I've moved since we last corresponded (not left town, unfortunately) so the address you had for me last year is now out of date.
