Just noted that Voiceprint Group of Companies released Kevin Peeks album Life and Other Games on CD at the end of July.

The Forum has been extremely quiet lately. Anyone still around?

Well I am! (Note my previous message of a week or so ago!) Seems everyone else has left the planet! Oh well...

Hi Chris, sorry, I saw your post ;-)

Sadly there does not seem to be much to talk about.

Here is a news:

Francis is currently and busily working on various organ projects. He recorded a couple of CDs of organ music in Germany and has more plans in that direction.

Even though Francis did not join the Curved Air gigs - did anyone attend one of it?

It was a shame that, for whatever reasons, Francis dropped out of the Curved Air reunion. Although they were, and probably are, a great band, I didn't bother to go and see any of the gigs. To be honest, as soon as I heard that Mr Monkman was no longer involved, I lost interest as it would have been primarily to see him that I would have gone to see them, if you see what I mean?!!!!

That is exactly how I saw it. As far as I have heard Francis was starting to practice again already around christmas 07 for the Curved Air gigs. But then around March/April it became appearent there were music related discrepancies inside the band and after some discussion Francis decided to drop out. I truly regretted his decision but he always puts music and quality first and as it happened with Sky and probably on other occasions he leaves when the two things start to play second fiddle to personal, marketing or business related issues.

Oh if you want to see him just come over to Germany the next time he gives a concert over here - Ryan Air to Altenburg, which is 45 minutes from Jena where I live.

Harald / Chris

How are you both. I've been a little busy lately.

I lijke the idea of seeing Francis in Germany he is great to watch. So professional.

We need to expand forum a little if Sky is running dry.

Hope everyone is OK.

Mike

I'm still here, but nothing much to say. I'll look out for that CD.

Speaking of CDs... Just got around to buying the 'anthology' 2CD set. Pretty good and fairly well representative of the band's output. Just one thing; there's a great live shot of Francis in the booklet (looks to be from 1980) in which a third synth can be seen behind him, mounted on the piano. I have only ever seen him playing two synths in sky (Prophet 5 and OB-1), so what's this third one? An OBX perhaps? A mundane question, I know, but just thought I'd mention it...!!!!

Btw, received a CD from Francis just recently containing his by himself remastered versions of the Sky tracks he composed. He likes them much better then ones on the officially released and remastered (so they say) Sky1 and Sky2 CDs.
A demo of another dish for the roof is also contained.

Yeh

I have a copy Harald.

It makes you wonder how good the finished piece would have been.

Part one is exellent and the remastered tracks by him too.
