I was watching the Royal Wedding today and I'm sure Tristan was playing timpani for the London Chamber Orchestra. Looking a little older obviously but I'm sure it was him. Anyone else see it, and think the same. And if Tris reads this, was it you?

I'm shocked by this revelation. You were watching the wedding? :-)

Wasn't everyone? And I've consulted other people and given other relatively recent photos of him in the past few years, the consensus is that it was him. I might email the LCO and find out for sure.

It certainly looked like him. I can well believe that he plays for the LCO. Noticed him immediately. A great occasion. I shall make a few enquiries, but I would be very surprised if it wasn't him...

I have it on very good authority (from a 100% reliable source) that it was indeed a certain Mr Tristan Fry playing the timps at the Royal Wedding!

Nice one, Tris!!

All the very best.

What the Timpani before God Save the Queen?

I just bought DVD for my wife and if its him he has aged and his glasses are slimmer.

Well after an email enquiring, the MD of the LCO confirmed that it was indeed "Our Tris" and as a matter of fact Tris made another TV appearance on TV in the Classical Brit Awards last week too.

Tris is a regular in the LCO and is very well respected it would appear and rightly so.
