The music is what made this old 1960 B/W series for me. The theme is the first tune I ever picked out by ear on the piano.

Bought the soundtrack CD then (mug that I am) bought the expanded remastered version. (Praise to Mark Ayres for that and the Dr Who recordingS.)

Now the series is out on DVD. (Try play.com.) Taken from a scratchy print, definitely not cleaned up. Probably mastered from the VHS master and with poor sound, but it's great. Now if my wife would stop watching Big Brother, I could get back to it...

I remember that series. It used to be on in the mornings during the school holidays when it shared billing with Casey Jones, The Double Deckers, and Why Don't You.......?


The theme tune at the beginning always reminded me of those films you saw at school (on reels not video) about nature and stuff.

I'm talking 1970's
