A great loss to the music world - a true legend.
Dr Bob Moog was responsible for inventing the first synthesizer specifically designed for musicians to use in a live performance situation - the Minimoog.
Even today the Minimoog is considered the most popular performance synthesizer of all time.
The Moog synthesizer changed the sound of popular music.
The famous 'Moog filter' (which many other big name synth manufacturers tried to copy - and still, in my opinion, have never been able to surpass) gave the synth its unique sound. The MOOG sound.
Aside of course from his immediate family and friends many, many musicians all over the world will mourn his passing.
I can honestly say the Moog synthesizer changed my life.....thanks Bob. |
